Developed from a number of resources related to mentoring gathered from beekeepers and mentoring support structures and organisations freely available on the Internet.

A need for a structured approach to beekeeper education and training in South Africa is urgently required. Funds and developmental support is available at present and numbers of individuals and organisations are involved in the education and training of beekeepers country-wide, without any structure, uniform approach, agreed outcomes or any other form of co-ordinated agreement.

To this extent, this policy paper will aim to address specific needs of the industry regarding Education and Training (ET) related to policy, structure, approach, policies, procedures etc.
